Gr1-winning stallion Trotamondo (Hussonet-Movie Producer, by Give Me Strength) will relocate from Yarraman Park in Scone to Belay Stud in Western Australia, reportsbreednet.com. A triple Gr1 winner in his native Chile, the son of Hussonet has seen his mare bookings decrease year-on-year since commencing stud duties in Australia in 2008. That year he covered a very respectable 66 mares but that number had fallen to just 10 in 2012. Belay studmaster Robert Martin is hoping that a fresh start, away from the highly competitive Hunter Valley breeding scene, will pay dividends for his well-credentialed acquisition. “He arrived over here in great shape from Yarraman Park and we are very happy with him,” commented Martin. “We got him to replace Brocco, who we’ve had here for the last few years and we plan to cover our mares with him, but would also be happy to accommodate some outside mares as well.”
